HOW TO CHOOSE A BURLESQUE COURSE!

Today we have a wide range of burlesque courses and workshops, so sometimes  it's hard to decide which is the best for our needs. Here some ideas to consider before choosing your burlesque course! ;-)

1. KEEP A BURLESQUE DIARY
It will be your personal guide and archive: write here what you will learn during the course, ideas for shows, create an inventory of your costumes and stage equipment.

2. FOCUS ON YOUR GOAL
Do you desire to become a Burlesque performer? Would you feel better in your body, maybe sexy? Do you want to try something new? Identify which is your goal and write it on your diary (writing it's easy for you to see all your progress!).

3. READ AND ASK
Web, flyers, people who talk to you about courses. Read all the programs of the courses, ask if they are focused on the bases of Burlesque, or on the improvement of the self-esteem, or of the posture, or on character/act building, or if they are targeted to aspiring performers. Choose what you prefer and be happy for your choice! :-)

4. KNOW YOUR TEACHER
Who is the teacher? Take information about her/him, is your teacher a performer or coach for performers? Does she/he have a website or page? (Ok if you read names such as Dirty Martini or Angie Pontani, skip this point, you already know that it will be a SUPER course!)

5. CONSIDER PRIVATE LESSONS
Classes with groups improve the skill of socialty, and you learn soon because you can see what the others do too. In private lessons you have the teacher only for yourself, so I recommended you this if you already have an act and you want to define it, or if you want to improve a particoular skill (the way to look at the public, the art of improvisation etc.).

6. CONSIDER PLACE, TIMES, PRICE
Your motivation will stay strong if you choose a place easy to reach, starting with a short course (1 month? 3 months? then you can continue if you like it), and if you think that the price is ok for the course you have chosen. If you have dudes, wait, think, and begin the course when you are sure.

7. "DON'T STOP ME NOOOW" na na naaa ♫  ♫
It's beautiful when you begin  with happiness to follow a course. Be patient if your Bump'n'Grind is more a square than a circle, Rome wasn't built in a day! Usually the first thing you will see to change is your attitude in front of the mirror, on the heels. Then you will see to come out an amazing burlesque soul, and if you want, a new burlesque star will shine on the Burlesque sky! <3
